"Falling in Love Again" is the sixth rail on Swedish singer Eagle-Middle Scarlet's debut studio album, Desireless (1997). It was released as the album's third unmarried in 1998 in Europe. Post-obit the success of "Save This evening", it was given a N American radio release in February 1999. The song reached number eight on the Great britain Singles Chart and peaked inside the elevation fifty in French republic, Iceland, and Ireland. Although the song charted in Canada and its music video received rotation on VH1,[1] it did not appear on any U.s. Billboard chart. The vocal'southward music video was directed by Stéphane Sednaoui.[ii]

Critical reception [edit]

United kingdom of great britain and northern ireland merchandise newspaper Music Calendar week chosen Cherry'due south vocals on the song "crisp" and "uncomplicated".[3] Chuck Taylor of Billboard magazine described the song equally "dangerously similar" to "Save This night" but noted the casual differences that made the song unique, asking for a more "daring" follow-upwardly hit.[4]

Chart performance [edit]

Unlike Reddish'southward first two singles—"Save Tonight" and "When Mermaids Cry"—"Falling in Love Again" did not chart inside the top 60 in his native Sweden.[5] On iv July 1998, the song debuted on the Netherlands' Single Pinnacle 100 nautical chart and peaked at number seventy two weeks later.[half dozen] In September, it entered the Icelandic Singles Nautical chart and rose to number 27 on two October.[7] After that calendar month, it appeared on the French and High german charts, attaining a acme of number 48 in the former land and number 81 in the latter.[viii] [9]

On two November 1998, the runway was released in the United Kingdom and debuted at its acme of number eight on 8 November, becoming Ruby-red's 2d and final top-ten hit on the U.k. Singles Chart.[x] In neighbouring Republic of ireland, it charted at number 23,[eleven] while on the Eurochart Hot 100, it debuted at number 21.[12] Afterwards "Salvage Tonight" became a hit in the The states and Canada, "Falling in Love Again" was serviced to North American radio stations starting in February 1999. Despite charting on the Canadian RPM Developed Gimmicky list at number ninety,[13] it did not appear on any US Billboard chart.[xiv]
